As an athlete I was use to training hard year round because I was involved in many sports. In high school I was a sprinter, soccer and basketball player. I turned down my track scholarships to join the United States Air Force. Shortly after being in the Air Force I was diagnosed with hyperthyroid disease as well as Raynaud phenomenon when I was 21 and it forced me take my eating and workouts to another level. While in the Air Force I have had the opportunity to play in many sports while serving my country. I was a member of the Las Vegas Showgirlz Football team, Women’s Football Association. While with the Showgirlz I played offense and defense. Having to play both sides of the field, muscle endurance as well as cardio endurance was a must. I tried to tailor my workouts similar to those of Adrian Peterson.
I am also into powerlifting; I won the women’s division on the bench press at Nellis Air Force base in 2010. In 2013, I became a mother and was unhappy with the way I looked and felt. It was the first time I had ever been out of shape. My husband motivated me to start training for fitness shows since I could no longer play football do to ACL/ meniscus injury. My first show was 11 months after my daughter was born and I placed 5th in the Alamo Showdown in figure in 2014. I recently place 3rd in women’s physique in the Alamo Showdown 2015.
I am also a personal trainer with ISSA and I train other mothers to get back into great shape.
